Service Description

In this course we will investigate what 'trauma-informed' interviewing means, and learn the practicalities of producing stories with people who are experiencing suffering or trauma in a way that doesn't cause them distress or harm, but instead is an empowering, positive experience. You can expect to leave this course with: Clarity on what trauma-informed practice means. An understanding of your role in the interview process beyond your story production responsibilities. The practical skills needed to minimise risk and create safe interviewing environments. Confidence in carrying out trauma informed interview techniques. Access to an online chat board for the other participants of your course, where we share the course materials and where you can continue the conversation. A take away documents detailing the key lessons learned. Course tutor: Cat Carter Cat is the Director of Safeguarding for Save the Children UK, and has over two decades of experience conducting interviews for communications and fundraising purposes in humanitarian scenarios across the globe. This online course will run for one 3-hour session (with a 15-minute break), and is limited to 15 participants. All materials will be provided in English. Dates: TBC Cost & Timings: £300 per participant Two discounted spaces are available for organisations with a turnover under £50,000, at £100 each. Please message to reserve one of these spaces.
